Unfortunate
So, the ship that was Tranquilizer Radio has sunk into the deepest parts of the internet ocean and will remain there. Most of the DJs are forming a new site, but I’ve relieved myself of my duties as host of The Neutral Ground. It’s too much work for someone who needs to focus on school and fucking graduate.
Not to mention, it felt uncomfortable hosting this pre-recorded show. What I am going to do is continue with the NOLA music thing in a different way. I’m booking shows for bands, setting up events, and I’m planning on incorporating some more audio posts into this Tumblr.
One thing that’s always been a part of my life is the music. Like I’ve said a million times, I come from a family of musicians, all of my friends are musicians, it’s inescapable down here in NOLA. You go over to your friend’s house, y’all have a couple of drinks, someone busts out the guitar, and you just…hang out? That’s how it’s always been. Someone has a fucking acoustic and that’s hanging out in my life.
So, with the audio posts, they’re going to document life around here. How we actually are , and how, (in the words of Chris Rose), “music really is in the air”. Something more natural , to let a little bit of Nola bleed out into the rest of the internet in hopes that maybe we can slightly dissolve this curtain that’s between us and other cultures.
Well…here goes the first episode
